About Us

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) at Arizona State University aims to provide professional and academic development opportunities directed towards mechanical engineering students. Members will be able to connect with experienced people from industry, attend a variety of workshops and events, and socialize with like-minded peers.

ASME has collaborated with @shpedeasu @hbsaasu @alpfaasu as the engineering aspect of this event. As engineers we bring the technical side of product development! This is some good exercise on presenting ideas to future companies or being on the receiving end of the pitch.

ASME X ASCE RECAP!

Had a great time with @asceasu in some friendly tower building competition! The goal was to build the tallest tower in a certain amount of time and team ASME won! Congratulations to the winning team and excellent work to the other teams! Perhaps ASCE can get their get-back in the next collaboration 🤔?

SOLIDWORKS WORKSHOP PART 1

We’re collabing with @shpedeasu to host THREE Solidworks workshops! Part 1 will be for more beginner level students where we teach intro skills and part 2 will be for more intermediate level students using the 3D space! Part 3 will be for advanced students tackling the assembly feature and putting all the parts made from part 1 and 2 together. Don’t worry though! Our workshops are open to all levels! We recommend you come to our second and third one even if you’re not as comfortable with computer aided design! Make sure to have Solidworks downloaded or use the Apporto lab! (I also recommend having a mouse). See you there!

Our chapter prides itself on our countless of opportunities for students to prepare themselves for the working world. We offer regular workshops where students can hone various technical skills, as well as guest speakers from industry to offer insight and advice.

Academic Aid

We work with faculty to ensure our members are receiving the boost that will give them an edge in university. Regular study groups, tips from upperclassman, resume workshops, etc.

Social Opportunities

With how large of a program engineering is, we provide a smaller space for our members to hang out and get to know one another better. We hold events such as board game nights, movie days, and more!! Either by ourselves or collaborating with another professional student chapter.
